BVB President Anghel: Romania will have a faster growth than the European average

Romania has been one of the fastest growing economies in the European Union (EU) over the past years and we believe that we will have a much faster growth than the European average for the next decade, President of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) Lucian Anghel said on Friday at an event dedicated to technologies on financial markets.

"Over the past years, Romania has been one of the fastest growing economies in the European Union (EU) over the past years and we believe that we will have a much faster growth than the European average for the next decade. It is not difficult because we come from a very low base, from a low GDP. I believe that we will have a sustainable growth, therefore, at economic level, the businesses will increase. We are a young marker, but well educated with a well educated population. We have a low level of public debt, taking into account the GDP. Moreover, we have energy, a growing IT&C sector, as well as the production of vehicles. Compared to other stronger states, we are the second largest country after Poland in there region and this could be an advantage for us," Anghel stated.

He added that Romania's capital market registered one of the highest dividend profits at global level, with important profits for investors.

Anghel also underscored that an important message would be not to relay only on earning on the regulated market and the capital market.

The BVB, together with the Federation of European and Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS) are organising on Friday the event called ConFEAS 2019: Financial Markets Beyond Technology.
