The low cost air company Wizz Air announced on Friday that routes to Austria, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Great Britain will be suspended until May 28 and the reopening of Wizz Air base at Timisoara Airport is delayed until May 29.

“Wizz Air, the largest low cost air company in Central and Eastern Europe announced today that most flights from and to Romania will be suspended following travel restrictions introduced by Romanian authorities. Consequently, routes to Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Great Britain will be suspended until May 28. The reopening of Wizz Air base at Timisoara Airport will take place on May 29,”the company announced in a press release.

Passengers with reservations affected by the suspension of flights will be automatically informed by email, whether they made reservations on wizzair.com or on the cell phone application.

“Customers will automatically receive in the Wizz customer account 120% from the amount paid. That amount can be used in the next 24 months for the purchase of Wizz Air products and services. In that case they will receive only 100% of the money paid initially,”company representatives said.

Passengers who made reservations by means of travel agencies – including online travel agencies- must get in touch with the agency where they bought the tickets.
