The European Commission about the objections to PNRR: EC will act in collaboration with the member state under discussion to clarify any potential question

The European Commission has started the thorough evalution of the plans for recovery and resilience which they have received and will act in tight collaboration with the member state under discussion to clarify any potential question, the main purpose being the optimal use of the funds, says EC after the information regarding its objections to National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

‘The European Commission has started the thorough evaluation of the plans for recovery and resilience which they have received. During this period, we will not be able to supply any preliminary evaluation’ the EC says.

‘According to the Commision, as it is included in the Regulation for the installment of the Mechanism for recovery and resilience, during the whole period of evaluation, EC ‘ will act in tight collaboration with the member state under discussion with the purpose of clarification of any potential question, by requesting, for example, further information’.

‘Our objective is to collaborate with the member states to ensure the optimal use of these funds’ the European Commission says.

The European Commission sent on Thursday ten observations on the issue The National Plan for Recovery and Resilience, most of them referring to the fact that the costs are not justifiable, that the calculation methodology is lacking and that the information supplied concerning the projects was not clear enough, according to Hotnews which presents a part of the working document of the Commission.

The document was discussed in Brussels on Thursday with the representatives of the European Commission. Sources close to the discussions said that this is a stage evaluation, the European experts requiring details as part of the evaluation and clarification process.
