The crisis in the government: MRU got angry with the Coalition for the pressure on money

Premier Ungureanu went out of the meeting of the coalition and required the ministers of justice and finances present at the discussions, to leave the room with him, as the leaders of the power parties said they would come to the vote in the Parliament only if the government decided on certain budgetery allocations. “ The premier almost slammed the door of the room where the meeting took place on Monday and said he would not yield to pressure. “ I won’t discuss in this context. You place too much pressure” he said almost literally. He also asked the ministers of Justice, Catalin Predoiu and the minister of finances Bogdan Dragoi, also present in the discussions” political sources related for Mediafax.
They consider that the premier was bothered by the attitude of the PDL leaders who have conditioned their presence to the vote in the Parliament on the support of legislative initiatives of the government on the request that the head of government disposes of budgetary funds to certain electoral constituencies.
The premier told them they should not spend something without justification and their requests cannot be achieved, but the coalition leaders would have said “ during the former government it was possible” the quoted sources say.
According to them, the list of requests covering especially requests for the localities in the electoral constituencies where the deputies and the senators of the parties in power were elected.
“It is not about very big sums, but of government decisions with small sums, such as money for churches. A bigger interest was shown for parliament constituencies, for general elections rather than for the mayors who are included in local elections” the quoted sources said.
Two weeks ago, the agenda of the government meeting had a decision draft which included the allocation towards several townhalls of several tens of million of lei, money taken from the Reserve Fund at the disposal of the prime-minister. The document was not approved in the government, the premier requiring the postponement of the document.
