Romanian Government hails investiture of new Government in Chisinau

Romania's Government hails the investiture of the new Government in Chisinau, headed by Premier Vlad Filat and created as a consequence of setting up the Alliance for European Integration after the vote democratically cast by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the election on July 29, informs a release sent to Agerpres on Friday.

According to the above-mentioned source, the responsible assumption of the governmental mandate is an important step forward for the Republic of Moldova to the consolidation of the rule of law, democracy and human rights and for managing, in the interest of its citizens and in the best possible way, the current complex challenges in economy and social life. In the same respect Romania will go on supporting the deepening of the relations of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union with a view to fulfilling the European aspirations of this state. The Filat Government got the vote of confidence of Parliament on Friday. Fifty-three deputies in the Alliance for European Integration voted for the investiture of the government headed by Vlad Filat, whereas 46 communist deputies were against it.
Romania and Moldova to achieve common projects
Romania and the Republic of Moldova can develop, from now on, bilateral projects - economic and cultural - that in the past few months they could not promote, said Minister for Foreign Affairs Cristian Diaconescu, in a broadcast at Radio France International.'I believe that naturally, we will have to think, in the period immediately ahead, of the negotiation of the legal bilateral framework between the two states, the adoption of those agreements that will make flexible the free traffic between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, the opening of consulates between the two countries, as well as the resuming of the activity of the joint inter-governmental committees, placing special emphasis, on the projects of economic cooperation, the mutual investments or the cross border cooperation, ' Cristian Diaconescu said, late on on Thursday, at RFI. For that matter, the new prime minister in Chisinau Vlad Filat, said, at the beginning of this week, that the Republic of Moldova has a very ambitious and substantial plan regarding the relations with Romania and which has to be fulfilled in a short period of time, signed will be the opening of the Romanian consulates at Cahul and Balti, and the opening of a Moldovan Consulate in Iasi. The Moldovan prime minister also said that talks are to be held, with the authorities in Bucharest, about the signing of the Basic Treaty, showing confidence that all the procedures will be signed rapidly enough.
