PM Orban had a meeting with French businesspeople

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban underlined, on Friday, at the meeting with representatives of the French business community in Romania, the firm commitment of the Romanian Executive towards developing a sustainable partnership with all investors in the economy.

The event, hosted by the French Embassy in Bucharest, reflects the Executive's commitment to maintain a constant dialogue with the local business environment, the Government said in a release.

The objective of the Executive is to develop a strong, internationally competitive economy, with institutions and an efficient administration, an economy in which the business environment will benefit from fair competition and friendly public policies with investors, the release also mentioned.

The Romanian prime minister said that the strategic partnership between the two countries will continue to represent a landmark of prosperity, but also of common security in the Euro-Atlantic area, an expression of the European values that Romania and France share.

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban mentioned that the Romanian-French bilateral relationship essentially contributes to Romania's prosperity and represents an important platform for increasing economic competitiveness, and French investors in our country play a relevant role in many internationally competitive sectors and sustain important eco-systems of small and medium-sized enterprises, the press release also reads.

''The over 5 billion euros invested by French companies in Romania support a wide range of high value-added exports, as well as bilateral trade exchanges of over 9 billion euros annually. The Government will make all necessary efforts to ensure the stability and predictability of the fiscal-budgetary framework, an essential condition of the development of productive investments in the national economy and of an efficient functioning of the market mechanisms for the benefit of the consumers", the Government informs.
