În 2017, 30 Romanians were part of the people with wealth over 50 million dollars last year

The number of the Romanians with wealth over 5 million dollars went up by 13% last year, at 3,720 from 3,280 in 2016, and those with assets over 50 million dollars went up from 210 to 240  with 14% show the data of the company for real estate consultancy Knight Frank.

Until 2022 the number of over rich with wealth over 50 million dollars will get in Romania to 360 ( increase of 50%) and the number of those with wealth of over 5 million dollars will grow to 5,630 (51%), shows the company  which launched the 12th edition of The Wealth Report, study on the global private wealth.

The study also shows that the number of the ultra-rich people ( with net assets of 50 million dollars or more)increased globally with 10% in 2017, reaching 129.730 people, with combined wealth of 26.400  billion dollars.

The ultra-rich population increased in a significant rhythm more rapidly in 2017 than in the last five years, when the cumulated growth was 18%. This trend in creating wealth reflects the boost of the global economy at the beginning of 2017. The solid estimates of the specialists in wealth show a growth of 40% until 2022 of the wealth of  ultra-rich people.

On the continents, the evolution of the ultra-rich between 2012 – 2017 offers a mixed image: while the number of people with net assets of 50 million dollars or over increased in North America (+31%), Asia (+37%) and Europe (+10%), the other five regions experienced drops, especially in Latin America and the Caribbean (-22%) and Russia and the CIS (-37%).

North America stays the richest region in the world, with approximately 34% of the ultra-rich, over 44,000. Europe (with 35,180 people, ultra-rich ones) lost the second place, which was overtaken by Asia (with 35,880 ultra-rich people).

The data showed that the number of the people with net assets of 5 million dollars or more increased with 9% in 2017, and the number of those with net assets with over 500 million dollars went up by 11%.
