MFP borrows off banks for lowest yield after 1990

The Finance Ministry (MFP) on Monday borrowed money off local commercial banks for a yield rate of only 5.06 percent, the lowest since 1990.The MFP raised RON 299.96 million (nearly 68.655 million euros) from commercial banks in a six-month issue of treasury certificates auctioned by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).The issue was worth RON 300 million, for total bids of RON 1.65 billion.There were 12 bank having submitted bids for the bills: Alpha Bank Romania, BRD- ...
