“Medieval Mystery”, theme of 26th edition of Medieval Sighisoara Festival
The 26th edition of Medieval Sighisoara Festival, the oldest festival of this kind in Romania, to be held over 26-28 July, has the theme “Medieval Mystery”.
The 26th edition intends to bring Medieval Sighisoara Festival to the value it deserves – that of the oldest medieval festival in Romania which enjoys the authenticity of the period of time through shows, music and images, thus becoming a gate to time travel in the City of Sighisoara.
The importance of the event consists of the power of communication by means of art, with the aid of genres specific of the Middle Ages. For three days, participants will enjoy Medieval music and dances, military orders and groups of Medieval joggling, Medieval show with horses, Medieval theatre and interactive theatre for children, workshops of Medieval art and crafts, joggling with flags, comedians' court, conferences, exhibitions and video mapping.
This year a a Medieval mystery from the world patrimony will be presented as part of an itinerant show in several episodes,” Sighisoara Town Hall announced in a press release.
For the 26th edition of the Festival, Sighisoara Local Council approved organization regulations stipulating fares for the public domain and the activity of sellers during the event.
According to regulations, the sellers' stands will be typically Medieval – tents, stands with Medieval decorations.
Sighisoara artists and students will not pay any fees.
