Mark Gitenstein: US investors, likely to increase investments in Romania by 50 percent in 5 years
The US investors on the Romanian market will increase their investments on this market by 50 percent in the coming 5 years, in the context in which the business environment, the market structure and Government's reaction are the main ingredients in investment drawing, US Ambassador to Romania Mark Gitenstein said at the release of the Romania AmCham Competitiveness Report.
The business environment here, the market structure and the Government's reaction are the main ingredients in investment drawing and market strengthening in Romania. It is the most important thing in drawing capital investments. The investments will go where investors get the highest profit, where there is credibility and transparency. And the Competitiveness Report shows that investors will come here because the system is predictable and transparent, shows Mark Gitenstein.
The US Ambassador to Romania brought to mind that, according to the Report released by AmCham, the US companies investments in Romania would increase by over 50 percent in the coming five years.
The survey that interviewed CEOs from Romania says that the managers and companies are already here and want to invest more in Romania. In the coming five years, the invested capital will increase by 50 percent, said 57 percent of the investors. The US investors already here will invest more. What is important is that the easiest thing to do is to draw investments from those already here, Gitenstein added.
The recommendations of the Competitiveness Report are based on the assessment of over 70 economic indicators of five main activity segments, the evaluation of the local legislative and regulating framework, as well as the answers of over 150 company managers concerning the business environment.
