Klaus Iohannis, Israeli president talks about collaboration in fighting Covid 19 pandemic

President Klaus Iohannis had a phone conversation on Thursday with the Israeli president Isaac Herzog, upon Israel's initiative, the presidential Administration informs. Talks focused on collaboration in fighting the Covid 19 pandemic, in the economic, security and defense fields, and in multilateral format.

 

Talks are part of the very good dynamic of high level bilateral contacts, in the context of te recent visit of the Israeli president Reuven Rivlin in Romania, in June, reflecting the solidarity of the bilateral relation, with strategic character, as well as the fact the Israel remains Romania's most important in the Middle East.

 

Talks occasioned an exchange of opinions about the stage and prospects of the bilateral relation between Romania and Israel, including collaboration in fighting Covid 19 pandemic, in the economic, security and defense fields.

 

Talks also pointed out the close friendly relation between the two states and peoples and the contribution of the Romanian community in Israel to the progress of the Israeli society.

 

In his turn, the president of Israel expressed his satisfaction for the very good level of bilateral relations, as well as the engagement for the development of bilateral cooperation in all domains of common interest. President Isaac Herzog appreciated joint efforts in fighting Covid 19 pandemic and appreciated the role of the Romanian community in the Israeli society. He also appreciated Romania's constant engagement in fighting antisemitism and assuming the past,”a press release of the Presidential Administration shows.
