Jan 20 is new deadline to lodge bids for private management selection in state-run companies

January 20 is the new deadline for lodging the bids for the selection of the private management of the state-run companies.

At the end of the last year, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business Environment (MECMA) altered the agenda of the attribution procedures and some of the qualification criteria for the introduction of the professional management in the companies whose main shareholder is the State.

The modification of the decision was made as the result of analyzing the issues which several well-experienced companies raised to allow the participation of ever more experienced relevant companies.

Thus, MECMA assisted by Pedersen & Partners and its subcontractors Roland Berger and Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen (NNDKP), eliminated the criterion of the average turnover amounting to 10 million euros, at least, over the past three years, which each associated companies was requested to reach.

According to the new criteria, an association of executive search companies must earn a total average turnover of minimum 40 million euros, over the past three years, irrespectively of the turnover each associated company has.

Trough lowering the restrictions, MECMA wants to attract the biggest executive search companies worldwide as well as the executive search companies operating in the region and having an exquisite expertis e in the assessment and the recruitment of top managers of Central and Southeastern Europe and in Romania, and to motivate them to attend the procedures,' MECMA explains.

The project on the introduction of the professional management in the state-run companies aims to get the best international executive search companies involved in the selection of professional managers for the state-run companies part in the first stage of the procedure, namely for companies like Oltchim, Electrica Furnizare, Hidroelectrica and Romarm, respectively.
