BNR: Overdue loans, a three-fold rise

Overdue loans tripled in 2009 and on August 31 the total overdue loans balance stood at 6.24 billion lei (some 1.5 billion euros), up 5.7 percent from the previous month and double as against the end of 2008, Romania's National Bank (BNR) informs.The highest number of overdue loans are in lei.The weight of overdue loans in lei doubled in the past year, accounting for 4.55 percent, twice as much as the weight of overdue loans in foreign currency.BNR stressed that the overdue loans weight per ...
