Average net nominal salary up by 14 lei in April from previous month

- In April 2021, the average gross nominal earnings were 5804 lei, with 19 lei (+0.3%) higher than the one registered in March 2021.

- The average net nominal earnings were 3561 lei, increasing as against the previous month with 14 lei (+0.4%).

- The highest values of the average net nominal earnings were recorded in computer programming, consultancy and related activities (including information service activities) (8671 lei), while the lowest in accommodation and food service activities (1790 lei). April 2021 as compared to April 2020

- As compared to April of the previous year, the average net nominal earnings increased by 11.9 % . Earnings in relation with the evolution of consumer prices

- The real earnings index1 was 108.4% for April 2021 in relation with the same period of previous year.

- The real earnings index was 100.0% for April 2021 as against previous month.

- As compared to October 1990, the real earnings index was 232.3%, by 0.1 percentage points lower than the one recorded in March 2021.

 

 The average net nominal salary was 3,561 lei in April 2021, increasing compared to the previous month by 14 lei (+ 0.4%), the highest values being registered in service activities in information technology (8,671 lei), and the lowest in hotels and restaurants (1,790 lei), according to data announced on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

In April, the average gross nominal earnings stood at 5,804 lei, 19 lei (+ 0.3%) higher than in March 2021.

"In April 2021, in most activities in the economic sector, the level of average net earnings increased as a result of the granting of occasional bonuses (quarterly, annual bonuses, for special performances, loyalty or for the Easter holidays), rights in kind and cash benefits, amounts from net profit and other funds (including securities) Also, the increases in the average net earnings were due to the resumption of the activity of certain economic agents, production achievements or higher revenues (depending on contracts / projects) , as well as the dismissals of staff with lower than average earnings, from some economic activities", the INS release mentioned.

The most significant increases in the average net earnings were: by 20.1% in financial intermediation (except for insurance activities and pension funds), respectively by 16.2% in production and supply of electricity and heating, gas, hot water and air conditioning; between 5% and 10% in the metallurgical industry, manufacture of road transport vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, forestry and logging (including fishing and aquaculture), ancillary activities for financial intermediation, insurance and pension fund manufacturing activities, manufacture of pension funds chemicals, water transport, coal extraction, other extractive activities, manufacture of other means of transport, storage and ancillary activities for transport, collection and treatment of wastewater.

Also, the average net earnings increased between 3% and 5% in the printing and reproduction on media of recordings, manufacture of electrical equipment, air transport, extraction of crude oil and natural gas, manufacture of coke oven products and crude oil processing products, agriculture, hunting and related services, activities related to mining, telecommunications, metal construction and metal products (excluding machinery, equipment and installations).

More
