A new France Consulate in Cluj

On Tuesday, 15 December there will take place in Cluj-Napoca the official nomination of the Honorific Consul of France in Cluj, Mr Pascal Fesneau in the presence of Henri Paul, ambassador of France to Romania. The creation of a consular agency in Cluj has as an objective to strengthen the Franco-Romanian relations at local level, especially to promote cooperation in the technical and economic domain with the institutions, universities, associations and enterprises in the region. This initiative comes to complete the numerous actions undertaken by the French Cultural Centre in Cluj. The new Honorific Consul will have the mission to keep a permanent contact with the French community in the city, which has been continuously growing, the press release sent by the French Embassy to Bucharest says. The second financial centre of the country and the second city in Romania as number of associations, city of multilingual culture, of sport, big regional medical and judicial centre, city of services and industries and eventually university city Cluj Napoca knew how to get to be known in the world. In this context, the new agency justifies its role to facilitate the development of Franco-Romanian relations.
