ONRC: 21,319 companies dissolved in first 10 months of 2020, down 24.57%

The number of dissolved companies decreased by 24.57% in the first ten months of 2020, compared to the same period of the previous year, to 21,319, compared to 28,264 companies in January - October 2019, according to data centralized by the National Office of the Trade Register (ONRC).

The most dissolutions were registered in Bucharest, respectively 4,050 companies (decreasing by 18.76% compared to the first ten months of 2019) and in the counties of Timis (1,120, - 20.51%), Cluj (1,052, - 20.12%) and Constanta (1,049, -25.60%).

Compared to the first ten months of 2019, an increase in the number of dissolved companies was registered only in Vrancea County (+ 2.57%), while the most significant decreases were recorded in the counties of Caras-Severin (minus 58.09%), Teleorman (minus 48.31%) and Bistrita-Nasaud (minus 45.61%).

The field of activity that registered the most dissolutions of companies in January - October 2020 is the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, where 6,232 dissolutions were registered at national level. Compared to the same period in 2019, the dissolutions in this sector decreased by 25.63%.

Constructions and professional, scientific and technical activities are two other fields of activity where a large number of company dissolutions were registered, namely 2,088 (minus 24.2%), respectively 2,053 (minus 16.82%).

In October 2020, 2,154 dissolutions were registered, most of them in Bucharest (441) and in the counties of Constanta (108) and Timis (104).
