MapN does not comment on the Romanian military in the military secret documents in the press The Ministry of National Defence (MapN) says, at the request of MEDIAFAX, in the context of the information according to which among the 90,000 secret military documents published in the international press there are data regarding Romanian military, that they do not comment on the materials published in the press about military operations in Afghanistan.

The MapN statement comes after the site of Deutsche Welle announced that the documents presented on WikiLeaks.org contain reference to operations of the Romanian military in Afghanistan, including a report regarding the death of an Afghan child, as well as plans of the insurgents regarding Romanian military. According to the documents, on 22 March 2007, the special brigade Diablo reports an accomplished mission by the Romanian military, presenting details about the operation, including the information that, most likely, next to the Puli Alam bazaar they hit a child to death. The Afghan police stopped the convoy and at the time the report was sent, the Romanian military were in the middle of Muhammad Agha. Another report, on 7 November 2006 presents the plans for the kidnapping organized by mullah Dadullah who was in the Pakistani region Waziristan. According to the documents, among the ones included in the kidnapping plans of the insurgents there were Romanian diplomats and Romanian military in the Kandahar region.
According to Deutsche Welle, among the tens of thousands of documents obtained by WikiLeaks there are tens, maybe hundreds of references at the presence of Romanian troops in Afghanistan.
The Wikileaks site posted approximately 90,000 classified reports about the conflict in Afghanistan, including the extent of violence in this country and the killing of civilians.
The White House denied the vericity of the reports belonging to the American intelligence. The source of the leak seems to be an American military analyst, arrested in Iraq to reveal classified information, according to the Daily Express which adds that in the incidents regarding the death of civilians there were involved British military.
