Benetton Group chairman, interested in investing in Bucharest Historical Centre

Benetton Group could invest in the Bucharest Historical Centre in order to revamp one of the areas belonging to the municipal authority, the interest in this respect being voiced by group chairman Luciano Benetton on Thursday, during the meeting he had with Bucharest General Mayor Sorin Oprescu at the Bucharest City Hall.

According to a release issued by this institution, Luciano Benetton seemed interested in cooperating with the Bucharest municipality in multiple activity sectors of the Group.

General Mayor Sorin Oprescu said that a first step could be to find out the opportunities to initiate private-public partnerships whose area would be established in the months to come.

Prior to the meeting held at the Mayor's office, Luciano Benetton, architect by formation, paid a short visit to the Historical Centre, voicing his appreciation for the area's potential opportunities of tourism, culture and trade.

The Benetton chairman especially praised the willingness and receptivity of the capital's Mayor regarding this project, considering that Bucharest was an area of maximum interest in the past as well.

Luciano Benetton is chairman of the homonymous group, one of the largest European companies, present in more than 120 countries and with an annual turnover in excess of 2 billion euros.
