The car market is on the drop by 27% after 10 months

The months of September and October had positive results for registration of new cars in Romania by 1% and 9%, but after the first 10 months the car market is by 27% below last year’s level, according to DRPCIV, the car registration department.In the first 10 months 70,629 new cars were registered. Dacia has sold over 23,000 units this year, on the drop by 24%. Drops were also registered by Skoda – 17%, Renault 22%, Peugeot 45%, Fiat 53%, Hyundai 56%, Saab 60%, Bentley 73%, Hummer and Maserati 82%, Chrysler and Dodge 90% and Ssangyong 91%.While significant drops are registered by car makes of big volume, Ferrari reports a 20% increase with 19 units. The highest growths were recorded by Infiniti- 90% (40 cars), BMW 18%, Porsche 18% and Chevrolet 17%. In October the car market grew by 9% to 8,280 cars, from 7570 in the same period of 2009. Ford sales in Romania dropped by 47% in October.
