PDL leadership votes for Gov't reshuffle instead of resignation

The Leading College of the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL), major at rule, on Thursday voted for Government reshuffle instead of en masse resignation of the Boc Cabinet. The suggestions for Cabinet reshuffling are focused on two main objectives, namely continuing the reform projects and getting Romania on a path of economic growth in 2011, Prime Minister Emil Boc said on Thursday evening after a meeting of the Leading College of the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL), major at rule, that discussed Cabinet reshuffling. He announced that ministers Adriean Videanu, Sebastian Vladescu, Mihai Seitan, Mihail Dumitru, Gabriel Sandu and Radu Berceanu would be replaced with Ion Ariton, Gheorghe Ialomitianu, Ioan-Nelu Botis, Valeriu Tabara, Valerian Vreme and Anca Boagiu.If endorsed by the head of state, the nominees will take over the helm of the Ministries of Economy, Finance, Labor, Agriculture, Communications and Transport, respectively.The prime minister said Adriean Videanu, Radu Berceanu and Gabriel Sandu stepped down. He thanked the shuffled ministers for their efforts as members of the Government.Boc also said the new minister proposals would be sent for approval to President Traian Basescu.
Ion Ariton has been recommended to take over the Economy portfolio in the Boc Cabinet
Ion Ariton is a senator of the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL), major at rule. He was born on February 15, 1956 in the southern city of Pitesti. He is a 1984 graduate of the Economics Department of the University of Timisoara. He has been chairman of the PDL Sibiu branch since January 2008.
January 2005 - December 2007 he was the Sibiu county prefect. In 2007 he was presented Romania's Star in rank of Cavalier.
Ioan-Nelu Botis - recommended to take over Labour portfolio
Ioan-Nelu Botis has been recommended to take over the Labour portfolio. He was born on May 1, 1967 at Lupeni, central Hunedoara County. He is a 1991 graduate of the Cluj-Napoca Polytechnics University and a 2006 graduate of master's degree courses in European studies of the Babes Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca. In 2001-2004 he was deputy mayor of the central town of Bistrita. In 2004-2008 he was executive director of the Bistrita-Nasaud County Employment Agency.2001-2004 he was chairman of the Bistrita branch of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), now in the opposition. In 2008 he became a member of the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL), currently major at rule. In the November 30, 2008 general election he won a seat in the Chamber of Deputies representing a district of Bistrita-Nasaud. He is married, with two children.
Valeriu Tabara - recommended to take over Agriculture portfolio
Valeriu Tabara has been recommended to take over the Agriculture portfolio in the Boc Cabinet.MP Valeriu Tabara was born in the village of Salciua, central Alba County, on July 1, 1949. He is an agricultural engineer by trade. In 1984 he earned a doctor's degree in Agronomics. In 1997-2001 he was chairman of the now defunct Romanian National Unity Party (PUNR), after being the party's deputy chairman in 1992-1997. In 2002 he joined that Democratic Liberal Party (PDL), currently major at rule. In 2004 he became deputy chairman of the PDL Timis branch. August 18, 1994 - September 3, 1996 he was the minister of agriculture and in the then Nicolae Vacaroiu Cabinet. Valeriu Tabara is currently holding a seat in the Chamber of Deputies, his forth consecutive one he won in the 2008 general election. In the current Legislature he is chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, Food Industry and Related Services. Valeriu Tabara is also a university professor. He has authored more than 200 scientific papers. In 2008 he became a standing member of the Academy of Romanian Scientists (AOSR).He is married, with two children.

Anca Boagiu has been recommended to take over the Transport portfolio in the Boc Cabinet. Anca Boagiu, a senator of the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL), major at rule, was also a transport minister June 27 - December 28, 2000.Anca Daniela Boagiu, a Bucharest PDL senator and deputy chair of the Senate, was born on November 30, 1968 in the south-eastern city of Constanta. She is a 1995 graduate of the Water Engineering Department of the Ovidius University of Constanta. In 2000 she joined the Democratic Party (PD), the precursor of the now PDL. August 22, 2005 - April 5, 2007, Anca Boagiu was the European integration minister in the then Tariceanu Cabinet. She is single, with one child.
Gheorghe Ialomitianu - recommended to take over Finance portfolio
MP of the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL), major at rule, Gheorghe Ialomitianu has been recommended to take over the Finance portfolio in the Boc Cabinet. He was born in 1959 in the village of Bran, central Brasov County. Ialomitianu is a graduate of theVest University of Timisoara. He has won educational certificates from the Paris-based International Institute of Public Administration, the France-East Fiscal Control Directorate and the Tax Department of Sweden. He worked as an economist in Brasov County, being at the same time a teaching staff, a publicist and a scientist. He has published 11 books on accounting, finance and taxation and 70 articles in Romanian and foreign speciality publications. In 2008 he won a seat in the Chamber of Deputies running in Electoral Constituency 8 Brasov. Gheorghe Ialomitianu is married, with one child.
Valerian Vreme - recommended to take over Communications portfolio
Valerian Vreme has been recommended to take over the Communications and Information Society portfolio in the Boc Cabinet. He is an MP of the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL), major at rule, having won a seat in the Chamber of Deputies as a candidate in Electoral Constituency 4 of Bacau.He was born on July 13, 1963 at Dorohoi, northern Botosani County. He is a 1987 graduate of the Electronics Department, the Automation and Computing Section of the Iasi University. He also attended postgraduate courses in France and the UK. He was chairman of the now defunct Liberal Democratic Party (PLD) Onesti branch and the PLD Bacau branch. He is married, with one child.
