Bucharest, the most expensive European capital city, according to the cost of residence

Bucharest, Sofia and Warsaw are, in this order, the most expensive capital cities of Europe as regards the annual average income of the population against the cost of residence, according to a study made by the Polish company of market analysis Home Broker. Thus, annual average salaries in Romania, Bulgaria and Poland are enough to buy 1-2 square metres in a house placed in a central zone. In Romania, with an annual average salary in 2008 you could buy only 1.4 square metres in a house of 120 square metres in the centre of Bucharest, which costs 3,484 euro/square metre, the study shows.
