First Hoyo tractors get homologated
Date: 18-08-2010
The Hoyo tractors made in the central Romanian town of Rasnov, Brasov County, have received their first homologation, Executive Director Denisa Vasilescu told Agerpres on Tuesday.'Last Friday we received the homologation for the 30 HP, 50-55 HP and 90 HP tractors and next year we will continue homologation for another range of tractors, given that we will be making tractors of a power between 25 and 120 HP. The project of the factory will be carried through in 2010. For the time being, the factory at Rasnov only assembles components imported from China and the final form of the tractors. As the project goes on, halls will be commissioned for the manufacturing of tractor components,' said Vasilescu.
So far, the Rasnov factory has manufactured 92 tractors for Romanian individual farmers and agricultural companies. For a start, the factory employs 20 people, but the staff will expand as the factory's business progresses.
The standard price for one Hoyo tractor ranges between 6,500 and 19,000 euros, and it can get higher, if further improvements are factored in.
The factory at Rasnov was opened in September 2009 to produce 20,000 tractors a year, under an investment project valued at 50 million euros.
The tractor components are imported from China and assembled at the factory, which has a staged development plan that runs into 2012. Initially scheduled for December 2009, the manufacturing of the first tractor was postponed until May 2010 because of some delays in the assembly lines.
The Rasnov factory is controlled by the Chinese Hoyo - SHK Modern Agricultural Equipment Co. Lltd of China, sole proprietor Shantuo Agricultural Machinery Equipment Co. Ltd. for the European market, with a stake of 80 percent, and the remaining shares held by Goldex Industry, fully owned by Denisa Vasilescu.
