SAUR 2 armoured personnel carrier showcased at EXPOMIL

SAUR 2 armoured personnel carrier, manufactured by the Romanian mechanical factory of Moreni, was unveiled on Friday at EXPOMIL 2009, the sixth edition of the trade fair of military equipment and hardware, which gathers in Bucharest, November 11-14, more than 105 companies from 10 countries - Austria, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, the UK, Poland, Romania, and the US.Among the distinguished exhibitors is Eurofighter, one of five companies displaying multirole combat aircraft, which for the first time exhibited a flying simulator. The Thales company introduced to Romanian Defence Minister Mihai Stanisoara a navy simulator and sea radars, all state of the art equipment.
Also showcased were airport radar systems and infrastructure, command and control systems, services systems for port infrastructure and industrial security systems.
Among the traditional Romanian exhibitors of EXPOMIL are Glock, Rafael, Cugir SA, SADU SA, RMARM and ProOptica. The exhibition is said to be an excellent opportunity for the Romanian Army Staff to be introduced to armoured carriers manufactured by Italian, Israeli and French companies.
Attending the exhibition, Chief of Staff Dan Ghica Radu said the top priority of his service is procuring night vision equipment, individual protection equipment, as well as communications equipment, particularly for the Romanian troops that are deployed in theatres of operations abroad, Agerpres informs.
