Representative Office of Romania in Ramallah, opened

The first round of political and diplomatic talks between the Romanian and Palestinian Foreign Ministers , based on a cooperation protocol signed by the two countries' foreign ministers, was held in Ramallah, where state secretary for global affairs Doru Costea , who paid a visit to the Palestinian National Authority, opened on Monday, the Representative Office of Romania in Ramallah, the Romanian Foreign Ministry announced.The Palestinian side was represented by a delegation headed by the deputy Foreign Minister Daid Abu Amara. The two officials talked about relevant matters for the continuous development of bilateral ties and made an exchange of opinions as regards the situation in the Middle East.
The perspective of the evolutions in the region and the dialogue between the Palestinian Authority and the EU were approached during the talks between the Romanian official and ambassador Majdi Al-Khaldi, foreign policy advisor of the PNA president.
The opening of a Representative Office of Romania in Ramallah is part of Romania's strategy to develop ties with countries in the Middle East. This diplomatic mission will also provide qualified support to Romanian citizens in the Palestinian Territories.
