Videanu will meet the Gazprom representatives

The minister of economy Adriean Videanu and the managers of Romgaz and Transgaz will have a visit to Moscow, between 20-21 May for discussions on the issue of gas, including Gazprom representatives.
“There will be discussions with Gazprom. In Moscow we will meet the Russian ministers of energy and industry and the Gazprom chairman. It is possible to include discussions about energy security” Videanu said, adding that more details could be offered after the visit. Asked if among the issues on the agenda the gas pipeline South Stream will be included, Videanu stated that the main interest for Romania is Nabucco. “ South Stream is not our priority” Videanu said. At the same time, for Nabucco, there is no contract signed between the companies involved in the development of the project and gas suppliers. « There is no contract signed with the gas suppliers for Nabucco » the general manager of Transgaz Ioan Rusu said. According to Rusu, this year, Romania will interconnect gas grids with those of Hungary, by 15 May, Romania will present the European Commission with requests for financing from community funds to interconnect gas grids with Hungary and Bulgaria.
